The Art of Allowing

It can be really overwhelming when we feel that the whole world is on our shoulders and we are navigating as a solo agent the expectations we place on ourselves. Perhaps the creative vision is aiming rather high (nothing wrong with that), but uno numero is channelling through.

Yep! Zero production.

Well, why not embrace ZERO expectation in the studio to lighten the load? As approaching a blank canvas with what can seem like a heavy coal sack strapped to our back is an extremely different feeling scape to approaching it with the creative space light feathers would alternatively bring.

I am quite sure when kids are creating or exploring they are in this very space, not a care in the world, and allowing freedom to have its day.

It’s important to remember, the mind as an adult will have you believe all the negative blocks to deter your creative flow, while the universe is surrounding you at the same time waiting for you to ‘allow’ the doing to take precedence.

Experimentation is key to cook a plethora of opportunities and motivate the doing to choose which ones to ultimately invest further time in. Allowing yourself the time to ‘play’ as a child would.

🌟 Allowing mistakes to happen.

🌟 Allowing yourself the space to go outside of what you thought the creative engagement is supposed to be.

🌟 Allowing the connection between you and the form to be a tango of unfolding and ofcourse leaving room for surprise.

The universe is a creative hotpot with a multitude of frequencies flowing to tantalise any artist’s delight!

It’s amazing how our best work can sometimes be birthed from an absolute accident. You become so lost in the moment that a beautiful turn happens to lead you to the work you are most delighted with. The mind has finally switched off and the frequency has been channeled pure and true, fine tuning your creative flow.

You are aligned and at one with the process.

Because here’s the thing, we are never alone in this creative landscape. There is a greater force at play here. One that is abundant and ever flowing inside ourselves connected to the greater cosmos.

Remember, our energetic wings are always ready to fly into the unknown. Even if we are face to face with our internal struggles head on and with perhaps external distractions abound.

Conflicting schedules, fear erupts motivated by self-doubt, vacuuming seems more interesting, the phone rings, work gets ripped up in frustration, your child is hungry, distraction leads to one too many coffee breaks and maybe days of inactivity lead to weeks if not months of ‘it’s simply not happening’. This is all a part of it. Relish in the parts as this is also the juice to fuel the creative fire. Love those parts too.

As when you are ready or unready and in a space of allowing .. SOMETHING will happen, sometime.

Is that not reassuring?
