Are the gates really closing in?

There is a point in life where you will sit down with yourself and ponder….

  • How much responsibility can one have?

  • How much responsibility should one have?

  • And when did childhood grow into a timetable of this and that?

Responsibility

Able to answer for one’s conduct and obligations.

I swear when I was born I should have had a post it note taped to my head that said the word ‘Freedom’ on it. Those around me might have understood my unravelling desires and perhaps I would have dived more quickly and incessantly within the world of art sooner.

When you meet the world of responsibility as childhood moves into adulthood and well…. adulthood moves into responsibility, you learn pretty quickly that freedom is the leverage to offset a compressed sombre mood.

Art was and has been key to exploring freedoms that my carefully constructed and responsible world cannot.

It has also through reckless abandon assisted in understanding my relationship of self amongst this world we all inhabit. A space where I’ve not needed to answer to anyone but simply immerse in the wonder of what can unravel and be.

Enjoy the doing. So many people do stuff but they don’t really enjoy the doing of it. That’s your life going by. It’s important to enjoy the doing of something. Jeez Louise. Enjoy.......

Because when we immerse in freedom and feel that expansiveness of possibilities erupt sporadically amongst impending daily, weekly, yearly duties - responsibilities are no longer centre stage. They become the mechanics supporting the unbridled freedom that lives within and can be accessed at anytime.

So let me ask you, do you have a freedom portal that offsets the magnitude of responsibilities that have crept in over time?

Or, if not, as a child where did you not have a care in the world and truly felt free?

Freedom can penetrate all aspects of life when we are walking to our own tune, singing our own authentic song and joy is accessed to the point of overflowing.
