To nurture and grow
Are simultaneous acts for restoration and maintaining equilibrium.
This is the maintenance required to restore the equilibrium we so desire. Navigating where we feel unfulfilled or simply not nurtured. Making room for hours to be renegotiated for activities that meet your needs and restore the harmony that the heart yearns for when things can sometimes swing out of balance.
Soften, soften, soften melting into clouds whether they are as white as snow dust or full of torrential rain.
It is our gift to ourselves to familiarise in our own self awareness and allow enough time to navigate when we are over exuding in some areas while other areas remain dry.
Some time ago I visited a friend’s Yin Yoga class and it was booked out. We discussed the diversity of the students that were turning up hungry for this slow down and hold for three minutes or so, yin shapes. To hear of a young football player turning up and sharing that they were attending because they needed to feel into their feminine side to balance out the masculinity required in training and on the football field, really does reflect this person’s ability to understand what they needed to nurture their being.
Restoring harmony
It is ok to unplug and move deeply within your being acknowledging spaciousness as you let old dialogues die and watch the fog evaporate on your mirror. Owning all that you are for a clear bright view; a beautifully lighter you,
So what does nurturing yourself look like to you? Can you tell when certain areas of your softness are being overridden amongst what can sometimes be a cut throat world?
I mean, everything has its place, right? The football field requires aggression, competition, teamwork, power play and our soul also needs to feel nurtured. When we take time to go within using wellness tools, such as: meditation, contemplation, long baths and nature walks, we are sensing our energetic being and noticing where hardness may have crept in. In turn, feeding the heart with the love and care it needs to grow.
We can only share deeply what we know of ourselves first.
A space to feel at ease.
Perhaps, what felt like a stress filled knot ball, has somehow provided all the answers to turn your life around. All in a one hour self indulgent bathtub.
Maybe a new furry friend spontaneously turns up on your life path! A companion remedy for the goodness a second heart beat can bring. Healing exchanges for a simple pat and cuddle, that can surely soften the heart.
Or, maybe a new creation that speaks volumes is ready to be explored and just like that an art workshop advertised pops up on social media. Providing the invitation for self reflection, self love and the healing your emotional body was waiting to release. On completion you leave light as a feather and all is once again restored.
The human condition needs lightness just as much as strength. It needs simplicity just as much as complexity and rest and nurturance just as much as exciting engagement. It needs a safe place to put down the expectations and simply be.
Five questions to contemplate:
What makes you all dreamy and wide eyed?
When was the last time you sat and simply watched a sunset.
What is your greatest self care answer to bliss and how long has it been?
Do you really know yourself well? What increases your self awareness? How often do you check in?
Do you answer your soul’s longing? Do you hear its whispers?
If you become really quiet and allow everything to slow down in an act of nurturance, you will feel the subtle energies shifting and the being reset. This is the kind of sustenance that prepares you for the road ahead feeling rejuvenated.
“Nurture is the care and attention given to someone or something that is growing or developing.”
