The Art of Releasing

We often hear of the notions about letting go, releasing and embracing the goal to empty, empty, empty ourselves of all that does not serve us.

Well, it is true that our nature is humanely designed this way.

Nourish, Action, Release, Enjoy

For 2024 as we embark on a fresh new year, I invite you to consider the cycle seeded above (Nourish, Action, Release, Enjoy) and contemplate what you currently do physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually to release routinely?

For example: you have a car and you put petrol in the car, but if you don’t drive the car then the battery will run flat. You can continue to put more petrol (nourish) in the car and it will overflow with the battery still going flat. Whilst the car needs the petrol (nourishment) it also needs the (action) drive to burn/ process/ release the petrol in order for the battery to receive the nourishment and fulfil its purpose (design). I find we are organically similar in the same way in that we need to burn/ process what we put inside our temple (body).

Starting the engine, burning the petrol and releasing the fume.

This new year contemplation also got myself busy wondering why people often get sick after an enjoyable holiday. Whilst this can be due to a myriad of reasons a lot of people are placed on their holiday in an ‘action’ environment they are not normally used to. Where the notion of exploring stimulates the release (sickness) that can be a build up of energy that was long overdue for release. Whilst being unwell sucks, my teacher often says “why not enjoy it? There’s nothing you can do about it (other than the remedies you are taking) but go through it.“

So is it possible in our day to day lives to check in with what ‘actions’ we are taking to nourish and release on a consistent basis through the mindset of exploration? A routine that is manageable and invites in long term commitment, sustainable outcomes and malleable to changing interests.

“Movement of the body is essential

to burn what we put in our bodies and enter a new days cycle.

Our wellness cycles will take different shapes for different people and is the fire needed for eliminating what is potential for stagnation, lethargy and heaviness. Stagnation can be stifling in itself, so our signature 2024 - nourish, action, release, enjoy wellness plan is filled with the vital remedy and commitment needed for our organic human design.

Action Wall Ideas

Physical (raising your heart rate and inducing a sweat)

elimination of bowels, running, dancing, skipping, skating, etc.

Emotional (whatever assists in processing emotions without judgment)

journalling, ritual, singing, process art etc.

Mental (whatever allows you to lose yourself in the process)

ice bathing, reading a book, gardening, mindfulness, process art, meditating. etc.

Spiritual ( whatever deeply connects you to your truth),

ecstatic dance, yoga, breath work, ritual, mantra, yantra art, praying, healing etc.

Tip: Don’t over complicate it! Simplicity holds the key to longevity and a path to enjoyment for the long run.

I hope the action wall has inspired some ideas to engage in actions that will spark the fire and release on the daily/ weekly that our human cycle was designed to do. Re - examining not only how you nourish your human design, but also what actions you desire to integrate will only keep your spirit uplifted and body energised.
