Felt Wholeness
The right way to wholeness is made up of fateful detours and wrong turnings.
— Carl Jung
Wholeness is the acceptance of who we are, found by deepening into the essence of who we truly are; our truth. As we come to understand more deeply how we engage with, process, and react to life’s situations, we gain clarity around what we need in those moments to restore balance. When we are tipped off our axis or sway from our centre, those moments become shorter-lived as we gift ourselves exactly what is needed in any given situation.
Our external environment is always a reflection of our internal one, and knowing who you are, and what you need, is key to meeting adversity. In this era of continual change, we are all being impacted in some way, and the question of how to compose a well-lived life with happiness, balance, and a felt sense of wholeness is a regular check-in. A simple declaration ‘I give myself permission to make time to create and care for myself’ can do wonders and should never be overlooked.
Meditation facilitates a heightened awareness of who we truly are and provides space to integrate external pressures. Noting our life experiences through journaling and engaging in creative joy, inviting playfulness, helps us self-soothe and refill our cup amidst the challenges that arise along our path. Creativity can take many forms, and it is up to each of us to discover our calling and engage with that outlet, allowing our joy to expand far and wide.
Only yesterday, as I prepared to embark on a new body of work, I realised I had no idea where to begin (not uncommon). With a holiday approaching, where this new work was meant to flourish, the familiar feelings of pressure, doom, and gloom crept in. Yet, as I sat on my studio stool gazing out into the natural environment, I noticed exotic parrots with alizarin, flame-coloured heads grazing in the grass. I was reminded that my work is always inspired by nature and the elements, and that keeping things simple, starting with the basics, relieves pressure and gently sparks inspiration, allowing a creative build to unfold.
More birds joined the parrots, and as I glanced at my playlist, the next song to play was titled Feather. In that moment, I was reminded that greater forces support and surround me always, and that my small, doom-and-gloom mind — the ego — doesn’t stand a chance against the true self that shines within. For that, I offer blessings and gratitude.
It is often the smallest moments that remind us of our wholeness. If you feel called to begin journaling your heart notes or experimenting with creative projects for self-discovery, you can explore our Temple Lah Transformation Oracle Cards.
